The IPL comes to a dazzling close!

With all the chaos that seems to have been the hallmark of the IPL auction, one would have thought that the same chaos would permeate down to the IPL matches themselves. But the 2020 went off without a hitch even as a few umpires and quite a few batsmen were held to task for many an issue.
Today, the IPL series for the year 2008 came to a dazzling close and even though both the teams were evenly matched, the Rajasthan Royals managed to claw back from a perilous position to win the IPL tournament for 2008. It was a thriller of a match from the start to the finish, kind of reminding one of the India-Pakistan series, one can definitely look forward to more excitement of the same calibre within a year as more international teams come forward to play in this tournament. The IPL has established itself solidly and cricket has finally evolved from being a staid stale game to one with many possibilities.

For those of you who are interested in Chennai news would know that the political pot has started swirling fast in Chennai and recently at that!recently,Dinakaran newpapaper had published an opinion poll declaring as to who would most likely be the hier in the DMK party.this particular opinion poll seems to have started off a storm that shows no sign of lessing in intensity,if anything else,it is increasing in it day by day.
Karunanidhi's two sons were perturbed at this opinion poll and according to some of the local papers in Chennai,the two sons of Karunanidhi pressurised him to make dayanidhi maran quit the cabinet post in New Delhi.many chennaites would say that it is because of the ex-IT minister Dayanidhi Maran that Tamlnadu has gotten so many contracts.this person has done so much good for his state that to be made to resign in this manner is indeed a shame.the political saga is far from over,lets wait and see what happens.whatever happens one should not forget that for all his age Karunanidhi is indeed a politician of great stature and i am sure that this will in the end be nothing but 'a strom in a tea cup'.

Chennai blazes under the sun!

Summer's well under way and Chennai as usual is taking the brunt of this hot spell,with the temperature fast reaching the forties.what is compounding the problem of hot weather for people is the TNEB'sdismal performance in supplying electric current.just as the clock reaches mid afternoon,nearly whole of chennai face power outages in one form or the other.in spite of repeated complaints,the officials in thier aire conditioned offices[driven by generators]do not seem to have sweated that much in trying to alleviate the citizen's worries!
