American paedophile held in TN

Yesterday Alan Jay Horowitz,a paedophile,who had been on paroloe in the United States and then had come to India on a flase passport was arrested by the local police in Tamilnadu in India.this person had sexually abused his stepson and after serving a sentence of 15 years in New York's Oneida Prison,was let out on parole.immediately he got a false passport and came from Banglore to Tamilnadu where he checked into a resort on the Mahabalipuram beach.a red corner notice had been issued against Horowitz,on receipt of which the american cousulate immediately informed the Indian authorities about this.soon the Indian police swung into aciton and the rest is already news.i for one am really glad that the indian authorities are taking the matter of paedophilia very seriously.many,many foreigners come into India and sexually abuse the poor children,like the ragpickers without any concern for them whatsoever.it is high time that the Indian law established a stringent form of punishment for such activities taking place on Indian soil!

Today Doordarshan announced that it was going mobile.from now on,people should be able to receive Doordarshan's feeds onto thier mobile provided thier mobile is fully equipped to do so.the Doordarshan's officials,when asked about the high price tag that one needs to pay in order to purchase such high end mobile sets,commented that they were hoping for the cellphone players like Nokia and Samsung would lessen the current prices by a huge margin.this may happen as India is the largest and the fastest growing cellphone market in the world today.as this blog is being posted,people with high end moiles in India are at this moment receiving the Doordarshan's feed onto thier mobile phones.the reality is that now we can take the 'modern telly' with us all the way!is this what we want??

Rupee appreciates again!

Well it certainly seems to be bad news for the EXIM people with the rupee appreciating like this against the U.S dollar.the Reserve Bank of India,it seems is more than happy to let the current Dollar-Rupee Tango go on like this without any intervention of any sort.recently the prime minister of India,dr.Manmohan Singh had commented that inflation was a cause of concern for him.so the Reserve Bank of India may have decided not to intervene in the Rupee's appreciation against the Greenbacks in order to manipulate the inflation so as to bring it down.but the common man's query is that whether the inflation is up or down,the prices of the Essential commodities always seem to head in one direciton and thats up,all the way!

third suspect nabbed!

A third suspect was nabbed by the West Bengal cops today in the Hyderabad bomb case.the suspects were tracked by the SIM card used to set off the bombs,out of which 2/3 of them did not explode.first of all i fail to understand the logic behind such attacks.why is it that there are some of us who just because they feel miserable think that it is okay to kill innocent lives.if they are so miserable then why do they not end thier own lives thereby doing themselves as well as us a huge favor?
i hope that the courts do award these suspects harsh punishment!

The split in the First family of Chennai!

For those of you who are interested in Chennai news would know that the political pot has started swirling fast in Chennai and recently at that!recently,Dinakaran newpapaper had published an opinion poll declaring as to who would most likely be the hier in the DMK party.this particular opinion poll seems to have started off a storm that shows no sign of lessing in intensity,if anything else,it is increasing in it day by day.
Karunanidhi's two sons were perturbed at this opinion poll and according to some of the local papers in Chennai,the two sons of Karunanidhi pressurised him to make dayanidhi maran quit the cabinet post in New Delhi.many chennaites would say that it is because of the ex-IT minister Dayanidhi Maran that Tamlnadu has gotten so many contracts.this person has done so much good for his state that to be made to resign in this manner is indeed a shame.the political saga is far from over,lets wait and see what happens.whatever happens one should not forget that for all his age Karunanidhi is indeed a politician of great stature and i am sure that this will in the end be nothing but 'a strom in a tea cup'.

150 years since the first mutiny!

India today celebarated the 150th anniversary of its first mutiny by the sepoy soldiers agaist the british colonials.it was literally the first war of independance and this in turn sowed the seeds of the independance cry that finally got India her much valued freedom.
Today India is the largest democracy in the world and there is no other place in the world where people from different backgrounds with different languages and different traditions all come together in the spirit of democracy to form such a "unique" nation.one can almost say that the indian independance movement actually started the independance movement in the other british colonies as well.once the "jewel in the crown" was lost the whole crown pretty much became meaningless.today India stands proud not just for winning her independance but proud also of the way she won it.
In all of history there has been no nation,by that i mean not a single mation that had ever managed to win a war leave alone a fight by "non violence".
India was the only nation to ever do that and they have every right to be proud of that.the 'non violence'movement is a unique movement as such where a disparate group of people come together and force their issue not by force but by disobedience and when stroked down by those opposing them,they did not strike back in 99% of the cases.
the non violence movement was of course spearheaded by Mahatma Gandhi,the seeds of which were sowed by hin in south africa which were later taken by Nelson Mandela for the anti apartheid movement.it is hard to surmise what the world would have been like without the first mutiny or mahatma ghandhi or the non violence movement.each of those persons as well as event had started the downfall of "the empire that never sets".thank god that the sun has finally set on THAT empire allowing a democratic giant to rise!Jai Hind!
