No bandh whatsoever!

Normally all courts in the country close for the weekend and that is true even for the Supreme Court of India.when the Special Leave Petition was filed by the opposition,no one expected the Supreme Court to hold a rare sitting of the Judges on a Sunday.but that is what had happened today.not only was the Supreme Court called to order on a Sunday,but it was also the judgement that has made headlines.
Bandh by definition is a call of protest announced by the political parties opposing the current government.what this call for Bandh does is that it pretty much brings all daily life to a complete standstill.there will be no food deliveries,any shop open on that day can be ransacked and there will be no transportation.all of this causes such havoc and hardship to the common man.can you imagine going a day without any milk or any other fresh food supplies or even being unable to travel a distance of 1 kilometre in safety during a call of bandh.like i had said before,this call is made by the opposing parties to the current government.but this time around,the ruling government themselves have made this call.and this had irked many a citizen of Tamilnadu.more often than not,political parties in India have made use of this Bandh as a way of protest.and they pay scant heed to the total havoc such calls for bandh brings about.here,this time around the ruling government led by the DMK made the call and immediately the opposition went ahead and filed a petition in the high court.but since the judgement of the High Court was vague,they decided to file a SLP before the Supreme Court of India.and lo behold,the Supreme Court not only accepted the opposition's views but they have also come down pretty hard on the DMK which had been touting this call for Bandh.what is more,the Supreme Court has issued orders/warnings to the current government that the current Bandh call is hereby revoked,that there shall be no Bandh tomorrow,the rights of the people supersedes that of the politicians and that if any attempt is made by any political party anywhere to initiate a Bandh,they will be playing with fire and that there shall be serious consequences to be had as a result of that.this has been one roller coaster ride that has just started.let us see what else happens as tomorrow is not that far away!

India China and Myanmar-power,lies and videotape!

With both India and China getting extremely anxious with the Myanmar situation,the recent events have not helped matters any bit.especially the killing of an innocent Japanese journalist by the Myanmar military.what made things more worse is the fact that this killing was captured on camera and broadcast.now the pressure on both these Asian giants has increased tenfold.it seems that both these Asian giants may well sit down and chalk out a common strategy as far as Myanmar goes.in the meantime,reports are reaching the other countries that the supposed dead toll could well be higher than the said 9.it is one thing to have people attacking unarmed civilians but totally another to attack unarmed and helpless Buddhist monks!
It is high time that all of the countries got together on this Myanmar issue and impress on both India and China to take further action without any delay whatsoever!

Banglore hosts the First ODI of the Aussie and the India series!

Well,with the defeat of the Australians at the hands of the Indians at the T-20 semifinals still smarting,the city of Bangalore is now hosting the One day series of India versus Australia.their earlier defeat is still smarting the Aussies as that is pretty much evident from the reports of the Aussie media who it seems have now got a serious case of 'Sour grapes'.
Sour grapes or not,the Aussie batsman Michael Clarke got the team off to a smashing total of 308,which the Indians are now chasing.with Rain having decided to play spoilsport,it may well be that today's match could end up being declared as a tie in spite of Clarke's wonderful batting.In India,cricket is religion and to see the 'Australian',comment on India's win against the Aussie's in the T20 semifinal has irked many an Indian fan.what is more,the Indians are just itching to give it to the Aussies and royally at that.it may not happen today on account of the rain but come the next match,India will hopefully wipe the board with the Aussies.it is time that they realised that the gloves are off and that the Indians are playing for keeps!

India wins the T-20 world championship!!

Kudos to the Indian team for winning this match against Pakistan.this was the match that the entire world had expected to see the last time in the World cup but were cheated as a result of dismal performance from both the teams the last time.but this time they did not disappoint anyone.this match was full of high passion,drama,curses,hugs,body snatching,and above all was a nail biting entertainer to the very end.
This was one of those matches which could have gone either way and there was no way of knowing who was going to win until the very last 3-4 balls of the match.everyone were on the edge of their seats and they and the rest of the world forgot everything else and were concentrating so hard on the match that if an electric power blac out had hit any part of the world there would have been a ruckus of a huge kind.the world knows that as far as India and Pakistan go,cricket is religion here.and naturally high passions come into play.to see the aussie media like 'The Australian' taking pot shots at the Indian team,calling them boorish and one of its key players as 'volatile' does not give the Indian team their due credit.as far as the aussie media is concerend,i shall cover that later.all i can say is that the entire world knows how the aussie's play their soccer and for them to call anyone else 'boorish' is a case of 'SOUR GRAPES' as well as a case of 'the pot calling the kettle black'.
